ANIME CHRISTMAS FOR TEENS AT RPL
Teens are invited to join us for a fun afternoon in the Main Auditorium on Thursday, December 19, from 3 to 5 p.m., for Rodman Library’s “Anime Christmas” program. We’ll be crafting Anime-themed ornaments, perler beads, food-themed crafts and playing Pin the Santa Hat on a famous Anime hero, plus more! Teens can also form teams and compete on an Anime obstacle course. Christmas movie clips of favorite Anime will be showing during the festivities. No registration is needed. You just need to be 12 to 18 years of age.
Jeff Hunter of Sunnyvale, California, and son of Alliance native Robert Hunter, Jr., will be giving a presentation at Rodman Library on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m., in the auditorium. Earlier this year, Hunter climbed Mount Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, in memory of his father who died in May 2017. Robert Hunter, Jr., was an attorney in Alliance for many years and assistant law director for 16 years.
Adults can join us for fun creative crafting on Wednesday, December 4, at 5 p.m., or Thursday, December 5, at 10 a.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. We will be creating a gnome, ornament and holiday gift tags. Attendees may make all items. Supplies will be furnished. Registration is needed as each program is limited to 30 adults. Signup is now open. This event is free and sponsored by the Friends of Rodman Library. Snacks will be offered and Christmas music will be playing during the event. This program is open to ages 18 and over.

This summer, Lynda.com's parent company LinkedIn will be absorbing the content into a new platform called LinkedIn Learning. LinkedIn Learning will be integrated with other LinkedIn features, and therefore will require Lynda.com users to have a LinkedIn account. The transition for our library is expected to take place this fall.
What to Expect:
Rodman Library recently implemented an automatic renewal system. Your checked out materials will be automatically renewed when a courtesy notice is sent via email or text message. This means that when your item is due, it will be automatically renewed for you.
Watch your favorite Acorn TV shows on hoopla. No DVDs to checkout, no overdue fines. All you need is a valid Rodman Library card and a device connected to the Internet.
Rodman Public Library recently collaborated with the City of Alliance to microfilm and digitize City Council minutes and ordinances dating from the incorporation of Alliance in 1854 through 1924. The 12,998 pages scanned are bound in large ledger books that measure up to 3” thick and 11” x 17”. They were sent to Backstage Library Works in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in late July for microfilming and digitization.
