Adult

Evening Book Discussion Group - Meets monthly on the 1st Monday, 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Main Conference Room. New book every month.

Branch Book Club - Meets monthly on the 3rd Monday, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Branch. New book every month.

"KnitWits" Knitting Circle - Meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Main Auditorium. Knitters and other needle workers are invited.

Writers' Alliance - Meets monthly on the 2nd Monday, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium. Bring a few pages of a work in progress.

Caregiver Support Group - Meets monthly on the last Thursday of the month (except November and December, meets the 3rd Thursday) from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Main Children’s Program Room. This is a monthly support group for caregivers of adults experiencing challenges such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Caregivers share and offer information. Sessions are led by trained volunteers from the Canton Area Office of the Alzheimer's Association. For more information call 1-800-272-3900.

Kids

Wee Read Main Library, ages birth through two years - Meets at the Main Library every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Wee Read introduces children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills.

Family Fun Night, preschool and school-aged children - For children ages 3 to 5, Storytime will offer music, interaction and stories. During this same time, all school-aged children will share in their own fun activities that are based on the S.T.E.A.M. program.

Storytime Main Library, ages 3-5 - Meets at the Main Library every Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. It encourages life-long readers through stories and activities.

Chapter Chat is a book club for all children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. It includes a book discussion, games and activities, and meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:15 p.m. in the Children’s Program Room. Registration is required for a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance. To register, or for more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Play Group allows children to make friends, play, and share stories on every third or fourth Saturday in the Children’s Program Room from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This play group is designed for children to learn, socialize, and explore through play. It is aimed for birth to kindergarten ages with an adult caregiver, but all are welcome. No registration is needed.

Tales for Tails - From September through November, meets the 2nd Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00 p.m., in the Main Children's Program Room. Children try their reading skills on local therapy dogs that will "listen" to stories. Dogs in attendance are members of Therapy Dogs International and the "Paws and Reflect" Pet Therapy group of Alliance Community Hospital. Sign up in advance. Call 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

Tween Council is open to enthusiastic 4th to 6th graders who want to make a difference in the library. Tweens will meet monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 4:15 p.m. to share ideas for upcoming programs, current trends, and what they and their peers are reading. Tween Council will meet in the Children’s Program Room and no registration is needed.

Teens

Teen Movie Night - Meets monthly on the 1st or 2nd Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. New movie every month.

Teen Video Gaming Days, ages 13-18 - Meets every other Thursday from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. Play games on the Xbox One and 360, PS3 &4, and Nintendo Wii & WiiU. Rated “E” for Everyone; “T” for Teens. The program is in partnership with Synergy Alliance.

Teen Writing Club, ages 12-18 - Meets every other Wednesday of the month from 4:00-5:30 p.m., in the Main Auditorium. The purpose of this group is to meet with fellow teen writers to work on writing exercises and hone skills. Any teen can join. Share work with the group if desired.

Teen Advisory Club, ages 12-18 - Meets the 3rd Monday of the month from 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m., in the Main Auditorium.
