Adult
Alliance Vinyl Club - Meets on the first Wednesday of even-numbered months, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Open to all music enthusiasts.
Branch Books & Coffee Book Club - Meets monthly on the second Monday, 6:30 p.m.. at the Branch. New book every month.
Cookbook Club - Meets monthly on the last Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. in the Main Library's auditorium. Each month, a popular cookbook will serve as the selection. Those planning to take part in that month’s meeting will come to the Main Library to borrow a copy of the cookbook. Each participant will choose any recipe in that book to make or bake at home. Participants should inform Deb Mikesell by email or phone which dish they intend to make. Evening Book Club - Meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month in the Main conference room. New book each month.
I Read YA Book Club - I Read YA Discussion, a book club for adults who enjoy young adult literature, meets at Rodman Public Library at 6:30 p.m. every first Monday of each month. Registration is required to attend meetings. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 217.
Maker Monday - Marker Monday, a monthly crafting program for adults, is held on a select Monday each month at 6 p.m. in the Main Auditorium. The free program features a different project each month.
Tech Time Thursday - Rodman Public Library offers Tech Time Thursday at the Main Library from 11 a.m. to noon each Thursday. During Tech Time Thursday, a librarian is on hand at the Information Center to answer basic questions about your computer or electronic devices, such as iPhones and Android devices, laptops and tablets. True Crime Book Club - The True Crime Junkies book discussion group meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. Books can be obtained through the Rodman Library catalog or the Ohio Digital Library. A limited number of copies will also be available at the reference desk. Registration is required. Women's Book Discussion Group - Meets on the first and third Monday of each month from noon to 1 p.m.. in the Main Conference Room.
Writers' Alliance - Writers’ Alliance, a group for those who like to create with words and share their work with others, meets at Rodman Public Library every fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. All writers are welcome to the group, which is facilitated by John Milan. All Ages
Chess Club - Meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the main Auditorium. Several chess boards are set up and players can come and go as they please. Open to players of all ages.
Tabletop Gaming - Held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the family event features a different board game each session. Of course, other games available in the library’s collection are also be available and visitors are welcome to bring their own games. The aim of the program is to give area residents an opportunity to gather with others to play their favorite card and board games and make new friends. Light snacks will be offered and no registration is required to attend the monthly program. Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 should be accompanied by an adult.
Kids
Wee Read (Main Library) - ages birth through two years - Meets at the Main Library every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. (when in session) Wee Read introduces children to books, fingerplays and music incorporating the six early learning skills.
Family Fun Night - preschool and school-aged children - For children ages 3 to 5, Storytime offers music, interaction and stories. During this same time, all school-aged children will share in their own fun activities that are based on the S.T.E.A.M. program. Held on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. (when in session)
Storytime (Main Library), ages 3-5 - Meets at the Main Library every Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. (when in session). It encourages life-long readers through stories and activities.
Storytime at the Branch with Hot Pots - Held on a select Wednesday (6:30-7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m. to noon) and includes Storytime at the Branch Library followed by a trip to Hot Pots for a project. (A fee, payable to Hot Pots, applies and registration is required through Hot Pots. Call 330-821-1313 for information.
Kids Book Club is a book club for all children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. It includes a book discussion, games and activities, and meets monthly on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:15 p.m. in the Children’s Program Room. Registration is required for a four-week checkout of a selected title one month in advance. To register, or for more information, call the Children’s Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.
Kids Crafting - Held on the second Thursday of each month at the Main Library at 4 p.m. The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
Kids Gaming - Kids Gaming is held from 4 to 5 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Main Library Auditorium. Children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. Registration is not required.
Lego Lab - Lego Lab, intended for children ages 6-12. is held from 6 to 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the children's program room at the Main Library. Registration is required.
Teens
Teen Gaming - For ages 12-18 - Meets every other Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Main Auditorium. Play games on the Xbox Series X, One, and 360, PS4 & 5, and Nintendo WiiU, and Switch, and Meta Quest 3 headset. Rated “E” for Everyone; “T” for Teens.
Teen D&D, Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of “one-shot” Dungeons and Dragons adventures every month. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate. Those interested can sign up via our online calendar on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play. Sessions will be on the second Monday of the month from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Reference Department at 330-821-2665 ext. 217.
Teen Nerf Nights, ages 12-18 - Teen Nerf Nights are held on select Thursdays every other month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Registration is required for the after-hours prgram.
