October's historical programming will begin and end with stories about Alliance murders.
On October 3, Allan R. May, an author and authority on organized crime, will discuss the 1957 murder on Eldon "Pete" Shoup.
On October 30, Jack R. Weber Jr., community relations manager at Rodman Public Library and a member of the Alliance Historical Society, will present "Only Murders In Alliance," the story of Joe Butera, who walked the streets of Alliance as a marked man for a decade, and other gruesome tales he discovered while researching the story of the Italian immigrant.
