Teens who want to help shape services and programs at Rodman Public Library are encouraged to join the Teen Advisory Board.

Rodman Public Library will provide the LEGOs, teens will provide the creativity on Thursday, December 8 during a LEGO building competition. Teens, ages 12-18, will work in teams of two to three members from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. to create a winter/holiday-themed display using a variety of LEGOs provided by the library, including LEGO Mindstorms.

Fogle Author Robin Yocum, who has six works of fiction to his credit, will offer a writing workshop, giving information to help aspiring writers launch and finish a book. "Writing is an art, so there is no rigid formula for writing a book. Every saxophone player has their own style, but the basic fingering is pretty much the same. I'm going to teach them how I write. Essentially, I'm going to show them my basic fingering as it pertains to writing a novel.

Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of "one-shot" Dungeons and  Dragons missions every month based on the Candlekeep Mysteries sourcebook. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate.

Those interested can sign up via our online calendar on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play.

Are you a teen who loves to read? Join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Book Club that meets on the third Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library. The selected title for December is You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao. Copies are available at the Main Library, through the library's catalog, or digitally through Axis 360 or the Ohio Digital Library. This program is patrons ages 12-18. The selected title for November is Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. Copies are available at the Main Library, through the library's catalog, or digitally through Axis 360 or the Ohio Digital Library. This program is patrons ages 12-18. Teens who have an interest in writing are encouraged to join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Writing Club that meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. in computer lab at the Main Library. Have fun meeting with your fellow teen writers to exchange ideas, hone your skills and share your work, if desired. No registration is required. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 217.
