Sam Allen-"Fire and Ice"

Primary tabs

Author and historian Sam Allen will present a riveting one-man show on the complex and troubled life of the poet, Robert Frost, on Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m., in Rodman Main Auditorium. Throughout a long and productive life, Frost (1874-1963) battled hostile critics and publishers, endured long periods of doubt and depression, and suffered innumerable family tragedies. Poetry carried him through those dark times, and he produced some of the most compelling and beautiful lyrics in the English language.

The play is narrated by Frost himself, returned from the other side to tell his story and bring his timeless artistry to a new, modern audience. Mr. Allen has performed the play at venues from Washington, D.C. to Cleveland, Ohio. Even those who claim to have no interest in poetry have come away moved, amused, and provoked by this unique production. This program is free and open to the public. No reservation is needed.
